Class
If I am late to class, how long will the teacher wait for me?
If it is a one-on-one class, the instructor will wait for 20 minutes.
After that, you will be considered absent and the class will be canceled.
If it is a group class, the class will not wait for you, but you can join at any time.
In both circumstances, no make-up class will be provided.
What do I do if I am not able to attend class?
Students who are not able to attend class(es) should notify the teacher at least 5 hours before the class begins. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the instructor to schedule make-up class(es).
Do you provide Chinese immersion courses?
We will adjust according to the students’ conditions, and gradually reach the goal of teaching only in Chinese.
How do I choose between group Chinese classes and one-on-one Chinese classes?
Working with like-minded people is motivating and helps you to develop your level and skills in a short time. You will be supported by your experienced teacher and other group members that will help you practice your Chinese skills in real-life situations. While one-on-one Chinese lessons are the quickest and most intensive way to learn or to improve your Chinese skills. The format of the lessons is totally determined by your needs and desires.
When can I start the lessons?
After coordinating with your teacher, you can start at any time.
Do I receive a certificate or receipt for the courses?
Yes. All of our courses offer a Certificate of Attendance or a receipt. It shows the number of hours of study that you have completed.
Are online Chinese lessons effective?
Online Chinese lessons can be as effective as in-person Chinese lessons. You will have a very similar experience if you choose online lessons or lessons at the school. We follow the same communicative approach which encourages you to make the most of your lesson time, talking and working with your classmates if you are in a group lesson. The only limitation is that your teacher is not in the same room as you. On top of that, Online Chinese lessons give you more flexibility, you can schedule them when it suits you best.
Technical
What platforms and apps will I use during my online lesson?
We use Zoom or Google meets for our live online lessons.
What computer equipment will I need for online lessons?
You will need a desktop computer or laptop with a microphone, webcam and Internet access. We encourage you to wear a headset so that there is less background noise and we can hear you clearly.
What can I do if my internet connection doesn’t work during the live online lessons?
We know that internet connections can be unreliable. We will provide some practical suggestions to help solve the problem while the lesson is taking place. Your teacher can also share lesson materials with you so you won’t miss the whole lesson.
Refund
Can I get a refund if I am unable to attend my class anymore?
Students can apply for a 90% tuition refund before the first day of class begins.
Students who apply before 1/3 of the course is completed will receive 50% tuition refund.
If students officially withdraw after 1/3 of the course completed, no refund will be given.
